From The Homefront, Vol. 7
Dear Leading Ladies,
If you are like us, you are happy to hear some good news in the midst of the discouraging events around us. We have found a few minutes of solace each week in John Krasinski’s inspiring YouTube episodes of Some Good News. If you haven’t seen them, take a look.
This week, we are asking Leading Ladies to go to postcardstovoters.org and register to send postcards to residents in different areas of the country where voter registration lags and races are close. You will need stamps that you can order online at store.usps.com (another way to help our struggling postal system), and postcard stock that you can order online at Staples, Amazon, Walmart, or CVS (they will all deliver). Postcards to Voters will give you suggested text for you to personalize and print at home. You are advised to sign with only your first name. You have options on the number of cards you want to send, anywhere from five to a hundred. They will give you addresses. Click here to see a video that demonstrates Therese signing up and writing her postcards.
Also, please don’t forget our second Zoom conversation about voting this Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. You are invited to watch a TED Talk by civic engagement champion Tiana Epps-Johnson about ways to make the US electoral process more inclusive and fair, before joining us to discuss the issue. You received an invitation to sign onto Zoom on Tuesday. If you have any questions, contact Britney at atb.ladies@gmail.com.
Stay safe and well,
Therese
