Celebrate Women’s History Month with Susan Wilson and her tales of the amazing Susan Dimock, one of America’s first female surgeons. Wilson has penned the first biography ever written about the doctor, Women and Children First: The Trailblazing Life of Susan Dimock, M.D. Dimock was raised in North Carolina but moved to Massachusetts to live with her abolitionist relatives and follow her dream of becoming a medical professional. 

What happened next? Find out on Sunday, March 10 when Wilson gives a multimedia presentation and signs books at Hastings House in Beverly Farms beginning at 2 pm.

This salon, the first of three literary events focused on social justice themes, is co-sponsored by The Book Shop of Beverly Farms and Leading Ladies. Wilson is an author, photographer, and public historian. She is the official House Historian of the Omni Parker House in Boston, an Affiliate Scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center, and an Honorary Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society.
