Friday Night Family Films: The Princess Bride at Hale Farm

Join Historic Beverly for a magical summer evening under the stars at Hale Farm with a special outdoor screening of the beloved classic The Princess Bride.

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic snacks (no alcoholic beverages please!) and enjoy a family-friendly movie night on the beautiful grounds of Hale Farm. Before the film begins, guests can enjoy lawn games and activities provided by The Castle, making this a fun-filled evening for all ages.

The Princess Bride story follows Buttercup, who falls for her farm boy, Westley. After he is presumed dead, she is engaged to Prince Humperdinck, only to be kidnapped. Westley, disguised as the Man in Black, rescues her, overcoming obstacles like the Fire Swamp and the Zoo of Death.

Filled with adventure, humor, sword fights, giants, and unforgettable characters, The Princess Bride remains a favorite for generations of movie lovers. Rated PG, the film is recommended for children ages 8–10 and older.

Please note that this is a carry-in/carry-out event, and guests are asked to help preserve the historic property by taking all trash home with them following the program.
