Environment
Nevada has warmed by 2 degrees over the past century, and prolonged droughts are a real threat. We need a bold plan to secure our water supply for future generations. My California and Nevada High-Speed Rail and Desalination Act will construct a high-speed rail line from San Pedro, California, to Henderson, Nevada, designed to transport both people and goods, as well as millions of gallons of seawater in stainless steel containers. The water will be desalinated at plants near Henderson and Las Vegas to provide safe, reliable drinking water. This project will create thousands of good-paying union jobs and modernize our regional infrastructure.

Gun Control
I am a gun owner and fully support your right to defend yourself. I urge my fellow Democrats, liberals, and progressives to switch their position and embrace the Second Amendment. I encourage you to purchase a powerful handgun or rifle for self-defense and learn to use it properly and responsibly. Our founding fathers wanted you to have the ability to protect yourselves and your loved ones. We Democrats lost the gun battle years ago. We need to wake up and understand that American society wants guns no matter what, and that’s not going to change. Let’s steal this issue away from the MAGA Republicans and use it to our advantage. Immigration
I love immigrants, and America should welcome more immigrants while maintaining border safety. My draft bill proposes amnesty for undocumented immigrants without criminal records or pending investigations for violent crimes, sex crimes, or theft. This bill offers smart border solutions and the use of non-military drones for border monitoring. Together, we can build a secure and sensible immigration policy that honors our values without masked ICE soldiers terrorizing families and children. LGBTQ Policy
Trump banned trans Americans from serving their country, and the far-right has made it clear that Obergefell v. Hodges — the decision protecting same-sex marriage — is in their crosshairs. If they try to overturn it, I will organize another national labor strike to defend marriage equality and adoption rights for LGBTQ parents. You will always have an ally in me. We will drive this economy to its knees in order to protect these LGBTQ rights.

Education
Free Junior College or Trade School with Stipends: I have written a draft bill that would give two years of free junior college, trade school, or technical school to families earning $250,000 or less per year, and to single parents earning $125,000 or less. Children who are 25 years old or younger would be eligible. The bill also provides a $900 monthly stipend to help students pay for transportation, food, school supplies, and living expenses. To qualify, students need to keep a 2.0 GPA or higher and attend classes regularly, whether online or in person. While not every junior college will take part, many are expected to meet our guidelines and work with state and federal governments. Housing
Making Homeownership Achievable for Working Americans: Homeownership should not be out of reach for working Americans. That’s why I wrote the First-Time Homebuyers’ Assistance Act, which provides up to a $40,000 federal down payment loan for individuals or couples who haven’t purchased a home by age 35. Eligibility includes an income cap of up to $120,000 (single) or $240,000 (married), a home price cap of $700,000, and a 0% interest loan that begins repayment in year six over 15 years. It can’t be discharged in bankruptcy and must be repaid upon sale or equity realization. This program opens the door to ownership for millions and strengthens the American middle class.

Healthcare
Healthcare should be universal and affordable. My Medicare for All Plan will cover families earning up to $400,000 and individuals earning up to $200,000, gradually reducing coverage for higher incomes until full private pay is reached at $800,000 per family or $400,000 per individual. It will also allow physicians to determine covered services through direct payments and independent oversight reviews. The plan also replaces the VA system, providing up to $5,000 per month in living expenses for veterans unable to work due to doctor-confirmed service-related injuries, physical or mental, with reviews every three months to adjust stipends as needed. Medicare for all gives you peace of mind because if you lose your job, you still have healthcare.

Economy
While Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are caught in a titanic struggle to see who can become Earth’s first trillionaire, average Nevadans are finding it harder and harder to afford the basic costs of living. The Trump administration’s tariffs are only a further tax on these costs. We need to bring an end to corporate price gouging while at the same time bringing up the wages of everyday Nevadans to accurately reflect the hard work that they do.

Foreign Affairs
Israel is currently a country with a broken moral compass. The entire world sees this clearly except for the United States. A United States whose politics have been warped for far too long by the toxic effects of AIPAC and made worse recently by the Trump administration’s crackdown on free speech. America has enabled Israel’s bad behavior for too long.

Immigration
Nevadans wanted better control of the border. No one wanted a goon squad disappearing friends and neighbors without due process.

Equal access to education, medical care, and housing
As a doctor, I have been serving patients for the last 25 years in the US Healthcare system. I know how the sausage gets made. We need to do everything that we can to reach universal coverage with some form of insurance while at the same time lowering costs. There isn’t one magic bullet or policy that will allow this to happen. It will take changes in the ways that all of the major players do business, including the insurance companies, hospitals, drug companies and pharmacies, and physicians. The Affordable Care Act was a good step in the right direction. Unfortunately the Trump’s administration’s Big Beautiful Bill has taken us backwards, diabolically taking healthcare away from some who are among the most vulnerable in society to give tax cuts to Trump’s oligarch buddies.

Former Republican. I voted Democrat for president for the first time because I knew that Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act would help the American health care system. This became reality for Nevada in 2014 when Brian Sandoval, the Republican governor, opted Nevada in to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion, dropping Nevada’s uninsured rate from 17% to 7%.
