Representative Tram T. Nguyen, Esq.
Tram T. Nguyen is running for U.S. Congress in Massachusetts’s 6th Congressional District. She currently serves as the State Representative for the 18th Essex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
A trailblazing leader, dedicated advocate, and proud first-generation immigrant, Tram made history as the first Vietnamese American woman elected to public office in Massachusetts. As the first in her family to graduate from college, Tram’s journey is one of resilience, education, and a steadfast commitment to empowering others.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. Before stepping into public service, Tram fought for justice as an attorney at Greater Boston Legal Services, where she represented survivors of domestic violence, low-wage workers, veterans, and people with disabilities. She worked tirelessly to change laws and policies that impact vulnerable communities, forging coalitions and driving meaningful reform to strengthen racial and economic justice.
As Chair of the House Committee on Climate Action & Sustainability, Tram is currently the highest-ranking Asian American woman in the Legislature. She continues to be a bold and compassionate voice for gender, racial, social, economic, and environmental justice. Her legislative priorities focus on expanding opportunities, breaking down barriers, and ensuring that every person—regardless of their background—has the chance to thrive.
Dr. Demond M. Hill
Dr. Demond M. Hill is an Assistant Professor of Health Equity in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. His research examines the interplay between emotions and feelings, neighborhood and built environments, and structural inequality to better understand the mental health and well-being of marginalized children, youth, and families. By centering the everyday lived material realities of those most impacted by systemic inequities, Dr. Hill's work advances scholarship at the intersection of developmental science, education, and health equity.
Tim Flaherty
Tim is a lifelong resident of Beverly who is married to Anne, a Beverly High School teacher. They have 4 adult children, 3 boys, and a daughter. He is also the youngest of nine children, having 6 sisters to help shape his future
After graduating from Northeastern University in 1990, Tim started working as the Director of the McPherson Youth Center and later at the Cabot Street YMCA, overseeing housing. After 10 years as the Executive Director at the Cape Ann YMCA, he came home to oversee the Greater Beverly YMCA, which he been since 2021.
Tim has also served in many capacities with the City, serving on the Charter Commission and for 20 years as City Councilor at Large. He served for several years as its President. Currently, Tim is the President of the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce, with a focus on government affairs, Power of Women, and Health and Wellness. He is also a member of the Beverly Rotary Club and a Funeral Director at the Campbell Funeral Home.
Naomi Chicos
Naomi Chicos has worked for Northeast Arc for the past 13 years. For the first 8 years she worked in the Adult Family Care Department helping keep families together. AFC is a MassHealth funded program that provides monetary compensation, training & paid time off for live-in Caregivers. For the past 5 years she has worked for the Family Resource Center. The Center works closely with the Department of Developmental Services of the North Shore and serves 17 cities and towns. We offer training and support to educate and build a community and network for our families.
