In 1776, people grappled with ideas of liberty, loyalty, the role of government in society, and how to declare independence to the world. Be among the first to visit our landmark exhibition that captures this monumental year in American history. Explore how the Declaration of Independence grew from draft to founding document through private letters, intimate diaries, and rare handwritten copies by John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.

This invitation-only reception will feature libations, hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment in the spirit of 1776.

Advance registration by February 26 is required for entrance.
